Xmas Letter 2007

Once again I bring you that time honored tradition where we share with you some of the yada, yada, yada of our lives. So from our winter wonderland to yours, here we go!

Parker (3) is king of all whine and cheese. He loves all things swords, digs Cars (Lightning McQueen etc), tells knock-knock jokes, watches YouTube, and cranks that Soulja Boy.

Sarah (5) is sweetness personified. She loves to make Parker’s bed, is passionate about Polly Pockets, and announces often to the family that she is “Fergalicious!”

Kelly (35) is honing her skills as moving coordinator, art/glitter curator, story orator, and conflict manager. She is also getting her new house legs under her as she gets our pad ready for MTV’s Cribs. It’s gonna be off the hizzle! Along with all that, she’s looking for gainful employment to put my behind back through school. This time she says she’s charging me interest.

Seth (hanging on to 29), is at the University of Dayton pursuing an even baker’s dozen of master’s degrees – this time in Education/School Counseling. He’s taking the idea of being a life-long learner literally. He is a graduate assistant (a.k.a. copy boy) at an urban high school. In his free time he enables his friends/family’s dysfunction and geekdom by being the commissioner of their fantasy football leagues.

Find out more about this Dayton Rings clan at Seth’s blog: www.helduphigh.blogspot.com. And if you haven’t picked up on it by now, we moved from Hoosier country to the Buckeye state of Ohio and its crown jewel, Dayton. So if you are in the neighborhood of I-70 and I-75, drop by – we’d love to hang!

All that’s involved in changing addresses is amazing. And that is especially true when I think about what Jesus did when he moved into “our neighborhood” by coming from heaven to earth. Awe, wonder, and amazing love came to us “wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger.” Together may we be in awe and wonder at the love that compelled Jesus to be with us 2000 years ago.
